Auto-reload
A standing instruction to buy credit when the balance runs low, so requests do not start failing at 3am.
Credit is prepaid, which means it runs out. Auto-reload is the rule that stops that being an incident.
Setting it
On Billing, with a card saved:
Top up $50 when the balance falls below $20.
Both amounts are editable in place. There is no Save button — the switch commits itself, and the amounts commit when you finish typing. A rule that needs a button is a rule people leave half-set.
Choosing the threshold
The trigger is not zero. A rule that fires at zero fires after the first request has already failed.
Set it to roughly a day of spend. Usage gives you the number directly: the credit-left figure reads "N days at this rate", so a threshold of one day's burn leaves a full day of notice before anything breaks.
What lands in the ledger
An auto-reload writes a topup entry the same as any other, marked with its
source, so recent activity distinguishes a charge nobody clicked for
from one somebody did.
Turning it off
The switch. The two amounts are kept, so switching it back on restores the rule you had rather than an empty form.
Removing the card switches auto-reload off with it — there is nothing left to charge.
